In this image you can see an airplane coming from the upper edge
downwards. In reality it flew almost horizontally away from me. The lights in the ends of the wings
-specially the left wing- were blinking all the time.
The light track of the airplane is better seen in the corresponding larger image.
The comet is just below the Perseus constellation. The two tails are very easily seen. The gas tail is blue and almost directly away from the Sun. The dust tail has bended to the right. The visible parts of the tails are tens of millions of kilometers long.
An open cluster called M34 is seen just on the right side of the comet. If you take a straight line from the nucleus of the comet to the lowermost tip of the light track of the airplane, the M34 is about 1/5 distance from the comet towards the airplane. It is seen as a dim, foggy light spot.
If you have a jpeg viewer download the bigger photo (98 kb) and study it as a negative or invert image. The tails of the comet and M34 are even better seen.
