Breaking The Sound Barrier - IPMS Finland's special exhibit at Helsinki Model Expo 1997

To commemorate the 50th anniversary year of Chuck Yeager's first supersonic flight, IPMS Finland held a special exhibit at the Helsinki Model Expo in Finland on April 25th thru 27th, 1997.

This list is compiled from various sources, both on the Net and from a huge pile of books. If there are any omissions or errors that you find, please feel free to point them out to me (and mention the source, too). I have purposefully excluded spaceships and missiles/rockets from this list.

The speed of sound depends on altitude. At sea level it is 1224 km/h and in 9100 meters' altitude 1090,8 km/h. The Earth's troposphere ends near 11000 meters, above which the speed of sound is approximately a constant 1061 km/h.
